HOW A NEW WEBSITE COULD MAKE MORE MONEY

Sell useful packages.
Build repeat relationships.

Design creates better places to sell. Revenue still depends on audience, pricing, sales effort, and advertiser results.

  • Recurring local sponsors: category and neighborhood placements with start and end dates.
  • Newsletter sponsorships: a habit readers choose, with a clearly labeled sponsor.
  • Featured business profiles: recurring directory revenue with useful discovery.
  • Promoted events and guides: seasonal shopping, dining, and community campaigns.
  • Print + web + email: one conversation and one package for existing advertisers.

ILLUSTRATIVE MONTHLY SCENARIO

What could a modest sales mix look like?

Change the quantities. These are sample assumptions, not a forecast or promised results.

A five-minute demo that tells the story

  1. Start with the reader. Open Modern Telegraph, read the market story, enlarge the text, and search by neighborhood.
  2. Show the new local habit. Browse an event, add it to a calendar, and preview a newsletter.
  3. Make the sales opportunity concrete. Open the advertising page, select a package, and save a fictional inquiry.
  4. Show the team in control. Change a headline in the editor, publish it, and switch between designs to show the shared content.
  5. Close the loop. Submit an event, approve it in the Inbox, and show it on the calendar.

THE PATH TO PRODUCTION

Turn the concept into a newsroom tool.

  • Confirm workflows, inventory, budget, and ownership
  • Add staff authentication, roles, a database, and backups
  • Migrate WordPress content and preserve URLs with redirects
  • Connect email delivery, consent, contact routing, and ad reporting
  • Test accessibility, performance, security, and launch operations

RESEARCH BEHIND THE PITCH

Build on what already exists.

The current newspaper already offers news, events, classifieds, newsletter signup, and advertising. The opportunity is to make these easier to find and manage, and turn them into consistent packages.

The live advertising page and 2026 media kit showed different banner rates during review. Confirm the approved inventory and price list before quoting real customers. Demo packages are illustrative.

Research notes and the reusable build prompt are included in the project folder.
